Case Study | Lakewood Hospital Emergency Generator Replacement
Lakewood Hospital had a need to replace the existing emergency generators. Tec Inc. completed the design and construction administration for the installation of three new 1,000 KVA outdoor generators with paralleling switchgear, and fuel transfer system. We coordinated the cut-over of the new generators and removal of the existing generators and feeders without disruption of critical hospital operations.
Plans were for the generators to be installed on the hospital property near a residential neighborhood. A sound study was conducted to predict the amount of noise when the generators were running and custom high-level sound reducing enclosures were utilized. From the hospital’s perspective this was a very successful project, fulfilling the growth requirements for the power system while minimizing operating noise levels for nearby neighbors.
